SunEdison Project
The University of Iowa chapter of E.S.W. recently participated in a 'Solar Green Island' project sponsored by SunEdison and E.S.W. The scope of their work included writing a project proposal, researching pumped water energy storage, devising alternate designs more applicable to their purposes, and building and testing a prototype model. The project was a comprehensive experience that provided multiple opportunities to apply practical engineering knowledge, while also incorporating the guiding principals of E.S.W., SunEdison, and the engineering profession in general. In addition to the educational value, it was an exciting experience and a great opportunity.
